Measuring your head to determine your crown size:
Start with the measuring tape just above your eyebrows
bring it around your head across the very tops of both
ears.
Just as you see in the picture.
Crown size ex-small
Head circumference: 21 to 21 1/2 inches
Crown size small
Head circumference: 22 to 22 1/2 inches
Crown size medium
Head circumference: 23 to 23 1/2 inches
Crown size large
Head circumference: 24 to 24 1/2 inches
Crown size ex-large
Head circumference: 25 to 25 1/2 inches
Measuring Guideline:
If your head circumference falls between two sizes
order the smaller crown, because all crowns have
hidden elastic. For example, if HC is 23 3/4, order
the medium crown. For those clients who don't have
hair due to chemotherapy or by choice, you can follow
the same guideline.
Tips:
Keep in mind, a crown is not a hat that you take off
when you come inside, so you want to make sure it is a
comfortable fit because you will be wearing it all
day.
Those of us who have locs have to really consider
thickness of hair and how we are styling our locs to
determine the size crown that we need. For example, if
you put some of your hair up and leave some of it down
in the back your head will measure smaller. Keep this
in mind when you measure your head to determine your
crown size.
